Falling in Love With….Outlander by Diana Gabaldon (Lindsay from The Broke Book Girls)

Falling in love with books finalWelcome to Day 1 of Falling in Love with Books. I’m delighted that Lindsay from The Broke Book Girls is going to kick things off by talking about an epic book today. If you don’t have the pleasure of knowing Lindsay or her blog, you’re in for a treat. Not only is Lindsay a wonderful friend to chat with about books, she is also a baker and decorator of beautiful, bookish cookies!

Welcome, Lindsay!

Hi everyone! I’m Lindsay and I blog over at The Broke Book Girls. I’m so excited to tell you all about one of my favorite books!

The book I’m in love with is Outlander by Diana Gabaldon!

It’s the first of the series-there’s 8 books out so far, with more to come! The story in each book, and the series overall, is fantastic. While it is long, it is totally worth it to stick to it (even if the books can be a bit long-winded at times). It has action, adventure, and a swoony romance. Plus one of the best book boyfriends EVER.

Because really, isn’t that what we all take into consideration when determining if we love a book or not?

I could continue to talk about the finer aspects of the book, but really, it all comes down to one Jamie Alexander Malcolm Mackenzie Fraser. You know, this guy:

Look! Here he is again!

Need another reason to read it? Not having to wait to know what happens when you’re watching the mini-series on Starz! It follows really closely to the book, so reading it in advance is definitely helpful, especially if you’re impatient like me and want to know what is going to happen! I am so excited for the second half of Season 1 to start on April 4th!

To further celebrate my love of this book, I decided to make some cookies!

(pssssst. I’m giving these away over on twitter! @brokebookgirls)

Thanks so much for having me Katie!

And here’s one more image of Jamie to entice you guys to read Outlander!

Wow! I’m planning to read Outlander later this month, and Lindsay’s post is a perfect prelude to that reading.

And those cookies look FANTASTIC! I was so excited to hear that Lindsay was going to host a cookie giveaway on Twitter for these. I hope you all enter….and go pick up your copy of Outlander!

Thank you, Lindsay!

Tomorrow, the amazing Sarah from What Sarah Read will be sharing a newer release she’s fallen in love with, so do join us for a second day of FALLING IN LOVE WITH BOOKS!
