What are your Top Ten Most Read Authors? For today’s Top Ten Tuesday, I’m including those authors from my childhood that wrote series, and so obviously I read loads and loads of those. I could have included Nancy Drew and The Boxcar Children but I left those out.

This list definitely spans a large amount of time—childhood, college, and beyond!

As usual, this weekly meme is hosted by The Broke and Bookish. Be sure to link up each week so we can visit your Top Ten!

I started reading her mysteries as a ten year old. I think And Then There Were None was my first!

I first encountered Collins in London where I read The Woman in White. After that, I had to read as many of his books as possible.

Kate DiCamillo

One of my favorite middle grade writers–two of my favorites are The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane and The Magician’s Elephant.

Cornelia Funke

Love her fantasy–especially Inkheart and Inkdeath! Dragon Rider and The Thief Lord are also excellent.

Shaun Tan

Shaun Tan is an auto-buy author for me, and I’ve used The Lost Thing, Tales from Outer Suburbia, and The Rabbits in my Middle School English classes before. I especially love his newest–Rules of Summer!

Who are the authors you’ve read the most books from? Do tell!

  1. THE BOXCAR CHILDREN YESSSSSS. (Sorry. I realize you just mentioned them!) I read all those books as a child. I remember really loving how all of them had like … a certain color associated with them? And the first book where they’re living in a boxcar seemed incredibly adventurous to me although in retrospect, maybe totally unfeasible.

I’ve only read one Wilkie Collins – the one where there’s a dude with a blue face? Poor Miss Finch, I think? – and want to read The Woman in White but just haven’t yet. And The Moonstone. Woo.

    • Good point about The Boxcar Children! I do need to re-read some of them…I’m due for some childhood nostalgia…YES: Poor Miss Finch!! I’ve read it and I love the drama and the dude with the blue face. Yes, I can’t wait to hear from you when you read The Woman in White and The Moonstone. Love both of those but especially WIW! 🙂
